THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK HOOPS… The Upper Iowa women's basketball team is back home for a pair of NSIC South Division games against Augustana University and Wayne State College on Jan. 20-21 in Dorman Gym.

PEACOCK DOZEN… Redshirt senior
Carly Pagel is on the verge of becoming Upper Iowa's twelfth women's basketball player to reach the 1,000-point milestone. Heading into the weekend, the Sumner, Iowa product has scored 982 points in her career. Pagel has turned it up since returning from holiday break averaging 14.3 points per game over the last six UIU contests including a season-high of 18 points against the University of Minnesota Crookston and Southwest Minnesota State University.

DO OR "DYE"… Sophomore
Blair Klostermann, a native of Dyersville, Iowa, is averaging 17.4 points per game in her first season with Upper Iowa. The scoring average in all games is the second highest in the Northern Sun Conference trailing only Betsy MacDonald of St. Cloud State University, who is scoring 18.6 per game. The pair swap places in NSIC-games only, where the UIU guard is scoring 19.9 points in per conference game, while MacDonald is at 19.3 per NSIC outing. Klostermann is shooting 41.8% from the floor and 83.3% from the charity stripe while pulling down a team-high 5.6 rebounds per game.

SERIES HISTORY... Upper Iowa has logged just one win in 38 games against this weekend's opponents. The win came last season in Dorman Gymnasium when the Peacocks upset Wayne State (55-48) to end a twenty-game losing streak to the Wildcats. UIU has not defeated Augustana in seventeen tries including seven attempts on Prochaska Court.

SCOUTING THE VIKINGS… The Vikings have split their weekend series each of the last four weekends including a ten-point loss (65-55) at home against #18 Minnesota State University Moorhead and a five-point win over Northern State University (76-71) in Sioux Falls, S.D. last Friday and Saturday. Logan O'Farrell, who leads Augie in points, rebounds, steals and blocks, sparked the Viking offense against Northern State with nine straight points to open the third-quarter and help the Vikings erase an 11-point deficit. Naomi Rust tied her career-high in points scored with 17 against the Wolves for the third time this season.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS... Wayne State had an eight-game winning streak snapped on Saturday at home when the #18 Dragons of MSU Moorhead defeated the Wildcats 74-64. The streak hit eight thanks to an 87-82 win over the Wolves of Northern State on Friday. Senior forward Anna Martensen scored a career-high 22 points versus MSU Moorhead on Saturday after junior guard Kacie O'Connor had her career-high of 25 points in Friday's win. Paige Ballinger, the team's leading scorer, also poured in a season-high 25 points against Northern State.
