Upper Iowa (3-7) fell to Rockhurst University (5-5) on Friday in Clearwater, Fla. by a 6-1 count. The Peacocks were held to just four hits on the night by the Hawks' starter Michael Lydon-Lorson and fell to Rockhurst after giving up four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Tyus Adkins (1-2) threw well for the Peacocks but suffered the loss after throwing 7.1 innings and allowing 4 runs on 8 hits.
The  Hawks scratched the scoreboard first in the fourth inning on three hits and a sac fly.  Upper Iowa tied the game in the top of the sixth inning thanks to a triple down the right field line off the bat of 
Anthony Calton.
The game didn't stay tied for long as Rockhurst got a double and run-scoring single in back-to-back at bats to take a 2-1 lead.
RU tallied five hits in the eighth inning to score four runs and put the game out of reach.
Calton had two of the Peacocks' four hits,while 
Mitch Moser and Jacob Stenberg each picked up one hit apiece.
Upper Iowa will wrap up their trip to Clearwater, Fla. on Saturday agaiinst Mansfield University starting at 10 a.m. (ET).
