THIS WEEK IN MEN'S BASKETBALL... The Peacocks will play a pair of games against GLVC opponents this week, beginning with the home opener on Tuesday. UIU starts the week with the Quincy University Hawks at 7 p.m. inside Dorman Gymnasium on Nov. 15 for Camo Night before heading south to Kirksville, Mo. over the weekend. Upper Iowa squares off with the Truman State Bulldogs on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. Tuesday night's game against Quincy will be available in an online webcast as well as televised on KCRG TV 9.2 in eastern Iowa.

PEACOCK STORYLINES...
WEEKEND SPLIT IN ST. JOSEPH: UIU split the weekend at the 25th annual Hillyard Tip-Off Classic, dropping to No. 6 Northwest Missouri State 87-52 before bouncing back on Sunday to defeat Missouri Western State 77-68. The Peacocks scored 50 second-half points to defeat the host Griffons.Â
SENIOR DUO: Seniors
Jimmy Roth and
Luke Lenhart are off to good start in their final seasons. Roth leads the team with 26 points through the first two games, including a 22-point effort against Missouri Western State. Dating back to the two NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament games last February, Roth has now scored 20 or more points in three of his last four games. Lenhart is second in scoring on the team with 21 points on the young season, and is third on the team in minutes with 30 per game. The duo combined for the final 10 Peacock points on Sunday against MWSU. UIU led 67-66 with 2:00 to play, and the seniors took control and put the game away for good.
COACHES REUNITED: Peacock Head Coach
Brooks McKowen and Truman State Head Coach Chris Foster played together at Northern Iowa. Foster was a Panther from 2000-2005, overlapping with McKowen for the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Foster was also a graduate assistant and director of basketball operations for UNI while McKowen was a player.

THE SERIES...
vs QUINCY: The Peacocks will square off with the Hawks for the second consecutive year. Last November, Upper Iowa pulled off a 93-81 win in Quincy, Ill. to claim a 1-0 lead in the series.
vs TRUMAN STATE: The Bulldogs lead the series against UIU with a 5-2 record, including a 2-1 mark in Kirksville. The teams met last season in Fayette, when Truman State won 84-80. The win last season snapped a two-game winning streak in the series for the Peacocks.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS...Â
QUINCY: The Hawks split last weekend at the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge in St. Louis, Mo. Quincy defeated Grand Valley State 79-71 before dropping to Ferris State 97-81. Senior forward Evan McGaughey led the Hawks with 22 points against FSU on 10-for-13 shooting. Senior guard Herm Senior II had a double-double in the game with 15 points and 13 assists.
TRUMAN STATE: The Bulldogs went 2-0 in Cedarville, Ohio at the Don Callan Classic to open the season last weekend, defeating the hosts Cedarville 82-70 before topping Trevecca Nazarene 92-55. As a team, the Bulldogs are shooting 52% from the field, and will travel to Lindenwood on Wednesday.
