WEEKEND SWEEP... The Peacocks used early and late-game scoring to upend the RiverHawks of Northeastern State last Thursday night in Tahlequah, Okla. Upper Iowa trailed early, but scored two minutes later to tie the match. The defenses took over for the next 75 minutes, with neither team being able to connect on a goal. UIU converted in the 86th minute to complete the comeback-win, its third victory over NSU in the last four meetings. UIU then earned a hard-fought, double-overtime victory on the road in Bolivar, Mo. last Saturday over SBU 1-0 in two overtimes to earn its first weekend sweep in MIAA play this season. Despite an overwhelming 27-9 lead in shot attempts, UIU could not convert the first 104 minutes. The offense finally broke through to give the Peacocks their second winning streak of the year.
