The Upper Iowa women's soccer team (3-3-2, 2-2-1 NSIC) was on the wrong end of an double overtime game on Sunday afternoon, surrendering a goal in the second minute of the second extra period to lose 2-1 to the Huskies of St. Cloud State (4-1-2, 3-0-2 NSIC) in St. Cloud, Minn.
St. Cloud State got on the board first with a goal 21 minutes into the opening half. 
In the second half, UIU sophomore 
Brittany Beckman scored her first career collegiate goal with 21 minutes left in the game. Beckman's left-footed, in-swinging corner kick found the back of the net to tie the match at 1-1.
After an empty first overtime for both teams, the home team made the most of an opportunity early in the second overtime. SCSU forward Maria Kass hit a volley from inside the box into the top corner of the net for the game-winner.
Madie Edwards led the Peacocks with four shots, placing one on frame. 
Kaitlyn Emanuel made seven saves in net.
Upper Iowa will stay on the road for their next two games as they take on the University of Mary and Minot State next weekend, Oct. 3-4.
