THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK MEN'S SOCCER

The Upper Iowa men's soccer team (4-0) continues their current road trip with a pair of matches in Jackson, Tennessee, where they will take on the Tigers of West Alabama on Friday, Sept. 18 and the Bulldogs of Union University on Sunday, Sept. 20.

LAST WEEK IN PEACOCK MEN'S SOCCER

The Peacock men's soccer team put together a weekend sweep in the first leg of their six-game road trip with a 3-0 win over Adams State and a 2-1 win over the Colorado Christian in Lakewood, Colorado.

KEY NOTES TO CONSIDER

1      RECORD START:
The 4-0 start to the 2015 season is the best in program history since moving to NCAA Division II, besting a 2-0-1 start from last season and a 2-1-1 start in 2008, a season in which they also defeated Colorado Christian.

2      GREGATRON: Senior midfielder Greg Marshall was named MIAA Soccer Athlete of the Week after he scored three goals over two games against Adams State and Colorado Christian. The Sheffield, England native now has four goals season in four games this season, passing his total from last season when he scored three goals in 17 matches.

3      RECEIVING VOTES: For the second consecutive week, the Peacocks are receiving votes in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Poll. After the 2-0 start UIU was receiving three votes, but after last weekend's wins, the Peacocks now have 15 votes and are just outside the top 25. Click here for the full rankings.

4      SECOND HALF STORY: UIU has outscored opponents 2-0 in the first half this season, but it's the second half where the Peacocks have made their move, beating opponents 7-2 in the latter period.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS

UWA ranked 20th in the same poll at the close of the 2014 season, wrapping up a storied year with an 11-6-1 record.
