THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK MEN'S SOCCER
For the third time this season, Upper Iowa will meet Fort Hays State on Friday afternoon, but this time it is in the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers won the first match between the two teams in Fayette, 3-2. UIU led 2-0 at halftime, only to surrender three goals in the second half. In the final game of the regular season, the Peacocks defeated FHSU 1-0 in Hays, Kansas, clinching the first men's soccer championship in school history. UIU is now 1-5-1 against Fort Hays all-time.
LAST WEEK IN PEACOCK MEN'S SOCCER
After winning MIAA Championship two weeks ago, Upper Iowa spent the last week training and waiting for their opportunity to play in the NCAA Round of 16.
RANKINGS SUMMARY
The Peacocks men's soccer team team finished the season at #19 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Poll. UIU was the top team in the Central Region in both the NSCAA poll and the NCAA rankings.

KEY NOTES TO CONSIDER
1 ALL-MIAA SELECTIONS: Ten Peacocks earned All-MIAA postseason honors, including Co-Freshman of the Year
Blair Lyons and Coach of the Year
Jason Carlson. Carlson becomes the first Peacock men's soccer coach to earn MIAA Coach of the Year and Lyons is the first Peacock to earn MIAA Freshman of the Year. The five Peacocks on the All-MIAA First Team led the conference and are the most in school history, while the nine total players is also a new school record.
2 RECORD SETTING SEASON: UIU has made the most of their 2015 season, acomplishing many firsts and setting new team marks. Upper Iowa won its first men's soccer conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time. The Peacocks defeated Northeastern State (twice), Fort Hays State and Lindenwood for the first time in school history. UIU won 13 matches, setting a new record for the most wins in a single-season in school history. Upper Iowa reached as high as No. 12 in the National Polls and No. 1 in the Central Region, both the highest in the school's history.3 BALANCED OFFENSE: The Peacocks have gotten contributions offensively nearly every player on the roster as 18 different players have registered a point. UIU has had 15 different players score a goal and 8 players have found the back of the net more than once.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
vs. FORT HAYS STATE: The Tigers (12-5-1, 4-3-1 MIAA) are competing in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year and had eight players named to the 2015 All-MIAA Men's Soccer Team. Fort Hays State had four first team selections, headed by MIAA Player of the Year Mauricio Castorino.
