THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK VOLLEYBALL... After taking on four nationally ranked opponents in their last five matches, the task doesn't get any easier for the Peacocks as they take on #5 Southwest Minnesota State. The Mustangs were the NCAA DII National Runner-up in 2014. SMSU is currently 10-3 (3-2 NSIC) on the young season and have been perfect on the road in four matches away from Marshall. The Peacocks remain on Prochaska Court on Saturday afternoon to take on the Cougars of the University of Sioux Falls. Despite starting the season 8-0, USF has fallen to 8-6 (0-5 NSIC) since conference play began.
 
NOT EASY UNDER THE NORTHERN SUN... The NSIC has been known as the top volleyball conference in all of NCAA Division II; but this year the evidence is in black and white.  The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference is currently boasting seven teams in the AVCA's Top 25 Poll and one more receiving votes.  Included in the nationally-ranked top 25 is #1 Minnesota Duluth, #3 Concordia-St. Paul, #5 Southwest Minnesota State, #9 Northern State, #11 Wayne State, #19 Augustana, #25 Winona State and on the outside looking in is Minnesota State receiving votes.
 
EYES ON THE BOOK... Senior outside hitter Jennifer Mundt sits in second place on the all-time kill list at Upper Iowa. She's currently 20 kills away from tying the all-time kills mark currently held by Shea Meyermann (2006-09) with 1,305 in her four years in Peacock blue. Mundt, currently averaging 4.48 kills per set is leading the Peacocks in kills with 224 on the young season.
 
FOURTH DIMENSION… Four Peacocks are currently ranked in the NSIC including Mundt second in kills along with kills per set. Kelsey Hinrichs is ranked 10th in service aces per set (.32). Jenna Hermsen's 7.2 assists per set rank 12th in the conference, while Taylor Williams' 4.6 digs per set are 6th highest tally in the Northern Sun.
