Peacocks Rally From 2-0 Deficit, Tie Montana State Billings, 2-2

Greg Marshall nets two in his first game in over a year

Box Score The Peacocks tied Montana State-Billings 2-2 in the Mt. Rushmore Season Kickoff in Rapid City, S.D., overcoming a 2-0 deficit in the second half.

At one point or another, every team finds out how they will respond in the face of adversity. For these Peacocks, it happened in the second half of game number one.

Already trailing 1-0, the Peacocks surrendered a second goal early in the second half.

"We had some first game nerves," said Head Coach Jason Carlson. "We were a little hesitant to their pressure, hesistant to attack. But we responded well."

Greg Marshall, who missed all of 2013 because of injury, scored two second half goals for the Peacocks to tie the game, 2-2.

"To come in, in his first game in over a year and score two, it's awesome," said Carlson. "If not for their goalkeeper, we may have actually won by a few. We had a lot of great opportunities and he came up with a lot of great saves."

The Peacocks will take Saturday off before playing the host of the Mt. Rushmore Season Kickoff, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
