The No. 25 Peacocks went into halftime trailing the Mustangs of Mount Mercy 1-0, but rallied with two second half goals to win, 2-1.
Marko Govedarica scored for the Mustangs 34 minutes into the first half, breaking the scoreless tie.
Fifteen minutes into the second half,
Leandro Pena scored to tie the game at 1-1. It was Pena's first goal of the year after he led the Peacocks with seven in 2013.
Ryan Pinkerton had the assist on the goal, extending his streak to three games with at least one point.
Then, with four minutes left in the game, the Mustangs fouled a Peacock player in the box.
Rhys Williams converted the penalty kick for his second goal of the season.
Aaron Calkins led the Peacocks with four shots, while
Johnny McBeth and Pena had two shots each.
Connor Rortvedt made five saves en route to the win.
The Peacocks and Mustangs tallied 15 shots each, with UIU placing eight on net while Mount Mercy managed six.
Up next, Upper Iowa will return to conference play on Saturday, taking on Lindenwood in St. Charles, Mo. Kickoff will be at 2 p.m.
