Upper Iowa 4-5 || Waldorf 6-13
Recap
After a slow start to their match with Waldorf College, the Peacock volleyball team rallied for a two-point win in the first set and then dominated sets two and three for the match victory. Upper Iowa's sweep of the Warriors came by scores of 25-23, 25-9 and 25-10.
The Peacocks trailed 16-10 in the first set when Head Coach
Aaron Nelson called for a timeout to rally his troops. After the timeout, Upper Iowa went on a 12-1 run with junior
Hailey Brown serving; the big run pushed them into the lead, 22-17. The Warriors tried one last push back and trailed by just one, 23-22, but UIU was able to maintain a lead and escape with the win.
Upper Iowa's offense took over in the second and third sets. After the team hit .118 with 10 kills in the first set, the change in percentage in sets two and three was dramatic. The Peacocks racked up 10 kills in each of the final two sets, but only had two errors in the second set and one in the third to hit .400 and .450, respectively.
