Upper Iowa took their modest two-game win streak on the road this afternoon to Davenport, Iowa to face the Bees of St. Ambrose University. The Peacocks came up short as the Bees pulled out a 2-1 victory.
St. Ambrose was the first team to scratch the scoreboard in the 19
th minute. Ryan McEvoy scored on a corner kick off the foot of Charlie MacInnes.
The Peacocks got the equalizer as time wound down in the first half.
Fausto Ordenana notched his first goal of the season in the 43
rd minute thanks to an assist by
Aaron Calkins.
After the teams returned to the pitch after halftime, it took only one minute for the Bees to reclaim the lead on a goal by Ross Hendry which was assisted by Michael Ohioze.
UIU was unable to get another score on the board and force overtime falling 2-1.
Both teams took 21 shots in the match, while UIU edged their hosts in corner kicks, 3-2.

The Peacocks will host the Hawks of Viterbo University on Pattison Field in Fayette on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. before taking the weekend off of competition. UIU's next contest after Thursday is next Tuesday afternoon in Cedar Rapids against Mount Mercy University at 5 p.m.
