THIS WEEKEND IN MEN'S BASKETBALL... The Peacocks will look to stop a two-game skid this Friday and Saturday as they take on two Minnesota teams in Northern Sun Conference action. On Friday, the Peacocks will take their 2-5 record to Mankato, Minnesota to face the 11th-ranked Mavericks of Minnesota State (7-1, 1-0 NSIC) at 8 p.m. Then on Saturday, UIU will face the Golden Bears of Concordia University St. Paul (3-2, 0-1 NSIC) at 6 p.m.

LEADING THE MAVERICKS... Assem Marei (15.2 ppg, 72 FG%, 6.6 rpg), Zach Monaghan (13.8 ppg, 5.8 apg, 1.75 spg), Gage Wooten (12.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg), Connor O'Brien (12.5 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.6 bpg), Zach Romashko (12.3 ppg, 5.9 rpg)

LEADING THE GOLDEN BEARS... Terez VanPelt (17 ppg, 4 rpg, 3.2 apg), Cole Olstad (14.4 ppg, 4 rpg, 3 apg, 1.2 spg), Travon Mitchell (11.8 ppg), Keith Crockett (9.2 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 0.6 bpg), Mike Yahnike (6.8 ppg, 6.0 rpg)

THE SERIES... The Mavericks hold a commanding 13-1 lead in their series with the Peacocks. That lone victory came last year in Mankato as Jake Hughes hit a last-second layup to propel UIU to a 61-60 win. MSU split the series last season with a 64-57 victory in Fayette. The Peacocks also trail the Golden Bears in their series 12-7 entering the 20th overall meeting. Concordia has also won five of the past six including the second game of a season split last year on the road, 69-67, after UIU won the first game in St. Paul, 77-71. The Peacocks are 3-5 against the Golden Bears in St. Paul, Minn.

DOUBLE DIGITS... Including Saturday's loss to the Warriors, the Peacocks have had at least three players finish in double-figures in every game this year. Josh Weeber, Joey Woods, Jace Hanna, Jimmy Roth and Jordan Hay all scored at least ten points against WSU.

NO.1 IS NO. 1... Redshirt senior Joey Woods (No. 1) is leading the team in scoring through the first month of the season. The Naples, Florida native has scored 91 points through five games - an average of 15.2 points per game. Woods also leads UIU with 4.5 assists per game.

IN JUST 2:39... In Saturday's loss, the Peacocks used a span of two minutes and 39 seconds to score 16 points and post a frantic comeback against the Warriors. UIU trailed by 20 points at the 4:31 mark in the second stanza before outscoring WSU by 14 points and cutting it to a six-point lead with less than two minutes to play. Unfortunately, it turned out to be too litte, too late as WSU held on and won by seven, 93-86.
