Upper Iowa dropped the first two sets by 25-22 scores, but bounced back to win set three 25-20. WSU won the fourth set 25-20 to claim the victory and earn a split in the season series.
The Peacocks started three freshman and a sophomore in each of the four sets and of the ten players on the court for UIU tonight, five were freshmen and one was a sophomore. The other four players in the match were juniors.
Upper Iowa used four straight points late in the first set to tie the frame at 22-22, but the Warriors claimed the final three points to claim the set.
In the second set, the Peacocks tied the score at 20-20 thanks to another four-point run. The run was fueled by three straight kills from freshman
Chelsea Berry. Once again, Winona State scored five of the final seven points for a three-point win.
