Game One Recap

Upper Iowa got a run on the board in the first inning after Tyler Adams led the game off with a single and, after stealing second, came home on a Andrew Kraus single up the middle.  The run would be the Peacocks only run in the opening game.

The Bulldogs scored a run to tie the game in the second inning and then added two in the third highlighted by a solo shot to open the inning.  After pushing another two runs across in the fourth, the home team exploded for five runs on four hits, a pair of walks and a hit batsman.

UIU was held to just five hits, two by Kraus, by UMD’s Colin Stinogel, while Mario Madera (4-1) suffered his first loss of the season allowing nine runs on ten hits in 5.2 innings.

UIU's two runs came in the seventh with two outs on a Juve Reyes double that brought two Peacocks home.
