UIU's Placewinners || Gold Brackets || Silver Brackets


Initial results are in from the Loras Open in Dubuque, Iowa.  The #7 Peacocks were in action with several wrestlers on the mat.  The tournament featured some great talent from all levels of collegiate wrestling and included over 350 wrestlers.

Eighteen Peacocks placed in one of twenty brackets split between two divisions.  The Gold Brackets were reserved for upperclassmen, while the Silver Brackets were for freshman only.

Carl Broghammer led the Peacocks on the day with a perfect 4-0 day that included a pair of major decisions and a technical fall at 197 pounds.  Jordan Rinken, Blake Sorensen and Mitch Schultz all finished as runner-ups in the gold brackets, while Colbey Vance, Dalton Westerlund and Jeremy Brazil all were runner-ups in the silver brackets.

The Peacocks will return to the mats next Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Luther Open in Decorah, Iowa.  The upcoming tournament will also feature separate brackets for upper and underclassmen.
