In a game that featured to one-sided halves, the Peacocks came up on the short end of an 84-73 decision to the Golden Bears of Concordia University, St. Paul.  Upper Iowa dominated play in the first half and controlled the pace of the game taking a seven-point lead into the break, but Concordia exploded in the second half to score 51 points and rally for the eleven-point win.  After the loss, UIU drops to 4-9 overall and 1-8 in the NSIC, while CU improved to 6-7 overall and 3-6 in the NSIC.

UIU shot well in the first half converting on 55% of their field goals including five of their nine three-point attempts.  The home team also passed the ball well recording 13 assists to just 6 turnovers.  Concordia would have trailed by more had it not been for the free throw line where they hit eight of their twelve chances.  The Peacocks used a 14-3 run in the middle of the half to claim an eight-point advantage, 25-17, fueled by three baskets by Mike Lafrenz and a pair of hoops from Bo Pagel.  A trifecta from Brad Arnold gave the Peacocks a 40-33 lead heading to the locker rooms.

In the second half, UIU opened well pushing their lead to ten points on four occasions; the last came at the 15:38 mark when Upper Iowa led 51-41.  Concordia began to turn the tide thanks to the trio of Peter Olafeso, Kenny Olafeso and Brent Barz.  The Golden Bears took the lead, 55-54, with 11:40 to play and then extended their advantage to as many as fifteen points, 76-61, with just over three minutes to play.  The visitors posted an 84-73 win in the end taking advantage of their 62% shooting in the second half.
