This afternoon, the Peacocks returned home to take on the Huskies of St. Cloud State. For the first time since their conference opener, Upper Iowa had a chance to tie the game on the final possession. UIU battled back from a six-point halftime deficit to take the lead on four separate occasions in the first eight minutes of the second half, but SCSU took control of the game and won 73-70. UIU falls to 0-12 overall and 0-8 in the Northern Sun. With the win, St. Cloud State improves to 6-6 overall and 3-5 in NSIC play.

The Peacocks gained an advantage for the first time just over three minutes into the second half, 38-36, thanks to a layup from Ashlee Bailey. The teams then traded punches over the course of the next five minutes before the Huskies separated themselves a little bit. They would lead by as many as nine, 61-52, with just over nine minutes to play in the game. In the final two minutes, the Peacocks only had the ball within one possession once, and that came in the final ten seconds when a three-pointer from Jeri Jacobson was off the mark.

The Huskies sprinted out of the gates and opened the game with a 21-9 run just before the halfway point of the first half. The Peacocks then returned the favor with a 19-9 run of their own to pull within two, 30-28. St. Cloud State ended the half with a 6-2 run to regain momentum and head into the locker room up 36-30.
