In their final home game of 2011, the Peacocks hosted the Beavers of Bemidji State. Poor shooting from Upper Iowa in the first half was too much to overcome and they fell to Bemidji State, 72-50. With the win, the Beavers improve to 5-3 on the season and 3-1 in the Northern Sun. UIU falls to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
The Peacocks scored on just one field goal in the first 12 minutes of the game and Bemidji State stormed out to a 20-5 advantage. Upper Iowa shot just 17.9% (7-39) from the field in the first half including only 1-14 from behind the arc. The visitors shot over 40% and outrebounded Upper Iowa 22-11 on the defensive glass. Bemidji State took a 36-20 lead into the locker room.
Shooting improved in the second half for the home team as they shot just over 30% from the field, but the Beavers shot nearly 50% (48.3) including 5-11 from three-point range. In the end, field goal percentage was the story as BSU outshot UIU 44.8% to 24.3% and went on to win 72-50.
