Nicky Brown recorded 14 kills on the night to surpass the 1,000 kill mark in her career and the Peacocks rallied from a rough first set to defeat the Dragons of MSU Moorhead by a 3-1 score this afternoon on the road.  Brown becomes just the third Peacock to reach the 1,000 kill mark in her career; she joins teammate Sara Vance and former teammate Shea Meyermann.

After dropping the first set 25-9, the Peacocks battled the Dragons for momentum heading into the break.  UIU won a long set that went to extra points, 29-27.  After the break, the visitors had their best showing on offense hitting .303 to claim a 25-15 win and take a 2-1 lead in the match.   The fourth and final set went back and forth, but UIU got away with a 25-23 win.

Vance led the attack with 16 kills and after Brown's 14, Kayla Wagner and Hailey Brown each posted 7.  Skylar Lesan tallied 44 assists on the afternoon. Maryn Fulton led the defense with 6 blocks.

Upper Iowa (14-12, 7-9 NSIC) will be on the road again next weekend with matches at Augustana and Wayne State next Friday and Saturday nights, Nov. 4 and 5.
