This Week in Peacock Football...

Upper Iowa makes their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference road trip of the season this Saturday when they visit Moorhead, Minn. to take on the Dragons of MSU Moorhead. Kickoff at Alex Nemzek Stadium is set for 1 p.m.

Last Time Out: UIU’s record dipped to 0-2 last Saturday when the #2-ranked Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth defeated the Peacocks, 62-13.

Scouting the Dragons

The MSU Moorhead Dragons enter Saturday’s home opener with a 0-2 mark which includes a 0-1 record in the Northern Sun after suffering a 58-3 loss last Saturday at Winona State. The Dragons dropped their first contest of the 2010 season at Missouri Southern State, 30-0.

Series History

Upper Iowa and MSU Moorhead have met twice since UIU transitioned to NCAA Division II. The Peacocks and Dragons have split the contests and hold a 1-1 record against each other.

The Last Meeting

The Peacocks last played MSU Moorhead in the 2007 season in Moorhead, Minnesota. After trailing 28-14 at halftime, the Peacocks rallied in the second half by posting 14 points but allowed a Dragon field goal late in the fourth quarter to give MSU Moorhead the 31-28 victory. UIU won the first matchup in Fayette, 36-13 on September 30, 2006.
