What a Win Would Mean...
A win over Quincy would...
...be UIU’s second win in their last three games dating back to the season finale win over Concordia-St. Paul last season.
...even UIU’s Division II series record against Quincy at 1-1.
...be the third consecutive home non-conference victory and the second consecutive win when playing inside Dorman Gym.
...give both squads a 1-1 record in the early part of the 2010-11 season.
Lesan Named NSIC POW
After opening his senior season with 28 points last Saturday night at Drury, Matt Lesan was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week this afternoon. The honor marks the sixth Upper Iowa Peacock to be selected Player of the Week and the third this month after Carl Broghammer and Jessie Hubbard earned their awards of November 10 and November 1, respectively.
The Solon, Iowa-native scored 28 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the floor in UIU’s 88-69 loss at Drury University. The veteran guard cashed in on five three-pointers and a five-of-six outing from the charity stripe while grabbing three rebounds in 27 minutes of action.
Looking Ahead
The Peacocks will spend Thanksgiving weekend on the road when they visit St. Paul, Minn. for a pair of non-conference matchups, their last two non-conference games of the season.
On Friday, the Peacocks will take on Academy of Art, an NCAA Division II institution located in San Francisco, California. Then on Saturday, UIU plays Valley City State, a NAIA opponent from Valley City, North Dakota. Tip off for both games is slated for 5 p.m.
