Upper Iowa was no match for the #6 Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State this afternoon in Marshall, Minn.  The Peacocks hit a .000 percentage for the match with 20 kills and 20 hitting errors.  The Mustangs breezed through for a straight set victory with set wins of 25-13, 25-18, and 25-9 to improve to 20-3 on the season and 12-2 in the NSIC.  UIU falls to 6-17 overall and 3-11 in conference action.

Nicky Brown hit a team-high 8 kills, while Skylar Lesan accounted for 15 assists.  Sara Vance posted 12 defensive digs.

SMSU hit .368 for the match with 41 kills and only 9 hitting errors.  Devin Diedrich led the way for the home team with 14 kills.

Upper Iowa returns home next weekend for a pair of NSIC matches against the Golden Eagles of Minnesota, Crookston on Friday, Oct. 29, and the Dragons of MSU Moorhead on Saturday, Oct. 30.  The Friday night match will begin at 7 p.m., while the Saturday afternoon affair will start at 4 p.m. following the Peacock football game.
