Fanning earned NSIC Pitcher of the Week for his efforts in Upper Iowa's season-opening 24-1 win over the LeMoyne Owen Magicians. The right-hander threw six innings and allowed just three hits and one unearned run, while striking out six Magicians. The victory helped kick-start the Peacocks weekend sweep in which they outscored LOC 60-7.
