Saki Kawabata (4-10, Jr., Osaka, Japan, Osaka Sangyo HS)
  • Kawabata split both her doubles matches at #1 with Iris Verweij and her singles matches at #2.
  • Kawabata is now 9-3 at #1 doubles with Verweij and 10-3 in singles play with an 8-3 mark at #2.  She is 6-0 in the NSIC in both doubles and singles play.
  • The junior won her doubles match with the Warriors by an 8-4 count and her singles match over Justine Daane 6-0, 6-1.
  • Drake claimed both decisions over Kawabata.
  • The Peacocks (9-4, 7-0 NSIC) split a pair of duals this past weekend thanks to an 8-1 win at Winona State University and a 7-0 loss to Division I Drake University.
  • Upper Iowa remained undefeated in the Northern Sun with their dominating win over the Warriors.
  • UIU has only surrendered two of the 63 matches played during their seven duals against Northern Sun opponents including five shutouts.
  • Upper Iowa will return to the court on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 28-29, to face the Vikings of Augustana College and the Cougars of the University of Sioux Falls. Both duals will take place in Winona, Minn.
