  • Title
    Part-Time Assistant Men's Wrestling Coach
Carl Broghammer will continue with the Peacock wrestling program for a tenth year as an assistant coach in 2024-25 after five years on the mat for Upper Iowa.

In March 2014, Broghammer was named the Wrestler of the Year in the Northern Sun Conference after completing his final season with the Peacock wrestling program. He capped off one of the most successful wrestling careers in Peacock wrestling history in 2013-14 with 42 wins (only 4 losses), a runner-up finish at the NCAA Central Super Regional and a third place finish at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. The third-place national finish was Broghammer's third of his storied career; he also placed third in 2011 and 2012.

Upper Iowa's four-year starter at 197 pounds broke the program record for career wins this season ending his career with 142 wins including 82 bonus-point wins thanks to 53 wins by fall, 7 by tech fall and 22 by major decision.

After becoming Upper Iowa' first freshman to become an All-American since Craig Campbell, he was named the NSIC's Rookie of the Year in March 2011. He also earned the top spot among all divisions at 197 pounds on the Amateur Wrestling News' All-Rookie Team; he was the only D2 wrestler ranked #1 on the team. Carl added his second and third All-American honors the past two seasons and completed his tenure in Peacock blue with a 14-3 record in his three NCAA Championship appearances.

Broghammer did all this work on the mat, while earning four NWCA Academic All-American honors as well.
