Emily Jorgensen joined the Upper Iowa Athletics Department in July 2021 and served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Services. Jorgensen came to Fayette from Marshall, Minnesota where she spent six years at Southwest Minnesota State University. Jorgensen became the Senior Woman Administrator / Director of Academic Success & Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Development in August 2023.
Beginning in April 2022, Jorgensen is the sport administrator for women's cross country, women's track & field, and cheer / dance.
After graduating from Southwest Minnesota State in May 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in sports management and a minor in marketing, Jorgensen worked for the SMSU Foundation as an alumni relations graduate assistant for two years. During that time, she earned her Master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in leadership.
While at SMSU, Jorgensen was a four-year letter winner for the Mustang women’s soccer team and served as the team captain as a senior. She was also an active member of the SMSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
She is a member of the athletics senior staff and will coordinate the department’s academic endeavors and faculty relations. She will work with SAAC, Faculty Fellows, and the Peer Mentor Program. Also, she coordinates all details regarding the Student-Athlete Development Series.
She and her husband, Alex Jorgensen, were married in the fall of 2022. Alex is the assistant baseball coach at Upper Iowa University.
