Kelsey Aikey

Kelsey Aikey enters her second season as the pitching coach for the Upper Iowa softball program in 2022-23.
 
The Cedar Falls, Iowa native graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in health science from Western Kentucky University in the spring of 2020, but returned to Bowling Green, Kentucky to begin her graduate degree in intercollegiate athletic administration and play one final season for the Hilltoppers.
 
Prior to joining UIU, Aikey had also been the assistant coach at Cedar Falls High School working with the pitchers for three seasons. She also ran an off-season training program with the Waverly-Shell Rock softball team.
 
As a pitcher with the Hilltoppers, Aikey threw in 142 games making 77 starts with a record of 47-33 and 17 saves including 34 complete games and a career earned run average of 2.60. Aikey struck out 554 batters including a high of 184 during her junior season.
 
She spent her first three years of high school at Cedar Falls High School before transferring to Waverly-Shell Rock for her final season of softball. Aikey earned All-Metro honors following her sophomore and junior campaigns and grabbed an Honorable Mention All-Mississippi Valley Conference selection and an All-Academic honor in 2015.
 
Aikey earned several academic and athletic honors while at Western Kentucky University.
