After an illustrious softball career with the Peacocks, Katie Crogan returns to her alma mater as a graduate assistant, splitting her time between Strength & Conditioning and Softball.
Following a successful senior campaign, Katie Crogan became Upper Iowa Softball’s first All-American at the Division II level and was also the first D2CCA Central Region Softball Player of the Year. Crogan also earned D2CCA All-Central Region First Team, NFCA All-Central First Team honors while being named as a Top-25 Finalist for NFCA Player of the Year. In addition to the national & regional honors, Crogan was named the NSIC Player of the Year and earned a spot on the All-NSIC Fist Team. The All-Conference nod was the third of her career as she was an All-NSIC Second Team honoree in 2019 and 2021 and a 2019 Gold Glover.
Katie played and started every game for Upper Iowa during the 2022 season and helped Upper Iowa compile record-setting offensive outputs. The Watertown, Wisconsin native finished the year with a .465 batting average, .885 slugging percentage, .543 on-base percentage, 50 runs, 73 hits, 15 doubles, 17 home runs, 76 RBI, and 24 walks. Crogan set the Peacock single-season records for batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, hits, home runs, and RBI.
After starting in 202 games during her career, Crogan etched her name in the record book, claiming a number of UIU program records including hits (253), doubles (54), home runs (45), runs scored (141), and runs batted in (203). She also finished her Peacock career second all-time in batting average (.390), slugging percentage (.684), and at-bats (649) and third in OBP (.441).Â
Crogan graduated from Upper Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science in 2021 and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Sport Administration with anticipated grad date of summer 2023. She also became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association in December 2022.Â
