Jessica Vernon returns for her second season as the assistant softball coach with the Peacocks in 2020-21. The Northern State University alum played softball and threw for the Wolves track team during her four years in Aberdeen, S.D. Vernon served as a softball captain for two years at Northern State and was a 2017 recipient of the NSIC Myles Brand Award. 
 
After graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in special education and a minor in coaching, Vernon entered a graduate assistant role at Southwest Minnesota State University. While at SMSU, Vernon received her Master’s Degree in special education and worked with the softball team as an outfield and swing development specialist. SMSU qualified for the NSIC Tournament in both seasons that Vernon was on the coaching staff.
