Erin Kuba is Upper Iowa’s new associate head softball coach. Most recently, Kuba was with the softball program at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. Kuba began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa as a graduate assistant and she has spent the last five seasons as an assistant softball coach at Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa product went to junior college at Indian Hills Community College and played for UIU’s current Head Coach Laura North. At Indian Hills, Kuba earned NFCA NJCAA Division I All-American honors in 2018 after batting .422 with 23 doubles and 13 home runs. She was also named the 2018 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Year and earned all-region honors in both her years in Ottumwa, Iowa.
After Indian Hlls, Kuba transferred to Utah State University where she played in 35 games with 30 starts at third base hitting .290 with three doubles and a home run as a junior. She earned Academic All-Mountain West Honors as well.
Kuba earned her Associate’s degree from Indian Hills in 2018 and completed her Bachelor’s degree in physical education at Utah State in 2020. She then earned a Master’s degree in education from Grand View with a strategist I endorsement.
