Jeancy Matumona-Bau

Jeancy Matumona-Bau was named the head coach of Upper Iowa men's soccer in May 2026. He joined the Peacock soccer coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2024 season, and served as a graduate assistant in 2025 before being elevated to head coach. 

Prior to joining Upper Iowa, Matumona-Bau spent the 2023 season as a student assistant coach for Ferrum College. He spent the previous two seasons as a midfielder for Ferrum, appearing in 15 games, making three starts.

He also played at NJCAA Division I Murray State College in Oklahoma from 2018-20. Matumona-Bau won the international cup with KFC Lint in 2017 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. His team defeated Werner Bremen (Bundesliga) and he contributed with one assist in a penalty shootout victory. He also played with Royal Antwerp FC U17 in 2016-17.

A native of Antwerp, Belgium, Matumona-Bau earned his Bachelor's degree in 2024.
