2012-13: As a redshirt-senior, Shonka started one game, but played in all 32 including 22 NSIC games … averaged 3.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game … finished seventh on the team in scoring, second in field goal percentage (56%) and tied for fifth in blocked shots (9) and total rebounds (73) … recorded a career-high 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting and 9 rebounds against Concordia University, St. Paul (12/7/12) … scored in double-figures twice during the season … in conference play, Shonka averaged 4.4 ppg and 2.0 rpg while dishing out 7 assists … took 82 total shots and made 46 of them (56%), including 1-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc (25%) … attempted 44 total free throws and made 32 of them (72%) … played 357 total minutes  and averaged 11 minutes per game in NSIC play … finished the year with a career-high 125 total points, 73 rebounds, 13 assists, 24 turnovers, 9 blocks and 7 steals … shot 59-percent from the floor in conference play … finishes his career with 147 total points.

2011-12: Appeared in 9 games... recorded 3 points and 6 rebounds... went 1-7 from the floor and 1-2 from the free throw line... scored a season-high 2 points at Minnesota Duluth, 2-25-12... snagged a season-high 3 boards at Minnesota Duluth, 2-25-12.

2010-11: Appeared in 13 games... recorded 18 points and 19 rebounds... shot 40% from the floor (8-20) and free thrown line (2-5)... tallied 6 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocks... scored career-high 6 points vs. Concordia (2/4/11)... snared career-high 5 rebounds vs. Valley City State (11/27/10).

2009-10:  Appeared in 4 games…recorded 1 point and 1 block in 4 minutes.

2008-09:  Redshirted

High School: Played at near-by Tripoli High School for Coach Rich Gilbert...also a four-year contributor in football and baseball for the Tripoli Panthers...as a senior...averaged over 10 points and eight rebounds per game for a team that advanced to the Third Round of district play before losing to West Central, the eventual district champion...named All-Conference as a senior.
