2012-13: As a senior, Hughes started all 32 games at point guard finishing third on the team in scoring (9.5 ppg) and field-goal percentage (54%), second in free-throw percentage (81%) and assists per game (2.5 apg) and first on the team with a 44-percent clip from beyond the arc … averaged 9.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.5 apg and 1.1 spg … averaged the second-most minutes on the floor at 29 per game … recorded a season-high 18 points on 4-of-10 shooting and 8-of-8 free throw shooting against Minot State in the opening round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Men’s Basketball Tournament on Feb. 27 … earned a career-high 8 assists against Bemidji State on Jan. 19, while finishing with 7 against St. Cloud State on Mar. 3 … took and made a season high 10-of-13 free throws against Sioux Falls on Jan. 4 ... scored in double-figures 17 times including a stretch of eight games with 10 or more points … had 4 or more assists in a game eight times while racking up a total of 928 minutes played … finished with 304 total points, 102 rebounds, 81 assists, 32 turnovers, 1 block and 36 steals … In 22 conference matchups, Hughes shot 57-percent from the floor, 44-percent from deep and 79-percent from the free-throw line while averaging 9.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.4 apg … Hughes finished with the best assist to turnover ratio on the team (2.5).

2011-12: Started all 26 games... averaged 8.2 points, 2.5 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game... recorded a 42.9% field goal percentage and shot 27.8% from behind the three-point line... made 81.4% of his free throw opportunities... scored a season-high 17 points vs. Minnesota State (1-28-12) and pulled down a career-high 10 boards at Minnesota, Crookston (1-14-12)... dished out a season-high 5 assists four times (vs. St. Cloud State, 1-7-12, at Concordia-St. Paul, 2-3-12, vs. Minnesota, Crookston, 2-17-12, and at Minnesota Duluth, 2-25-12)... recorded double figures in points eight times.

2010-11: Started 25 of UIU's 26 games... averaged 7 points, 3 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game... shot 38.3% from the floor and 31.3% from behind the three-point line... made 80.3% of his free throw opportunities... scored a career-high 21 points and pulled down a career-high 6 rebounds at St. Cloud State (1/8/11)... dished out a career-high 6 assists twice (vs. Quincy, 11/20/10, and vs. U-Mary, 1/4/11)... reached double figures in scoring on six occassions.

2009-10: Started all 24 games that he appeared in as a true freshman…averaged 6.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game…made 45% (44-97) of his shots from the floor including 45% (14-33) from beyond the three point arc…converted 80% (47-59) of his free throw attempts…recorded 19 steals on the season...held a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio…had a season-high 17 points at Winona St. (2-24-10)…had a season-high 5 assists at Minnesota-Crookston (1-22-10).

High School: Averaged 12.5 points and 4.7 assists per game as a senior for Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids...led Kennedy to a 21-2 record during as a senior...started at point guard for Kennedy for three years...led team to state tournament berths during his sophomore and junior seasons... team finished third in 2007 and fourth in 2008... selected by the Iowa Newspaper Association and Des Moines Register as a Second Team Class 4A All State player as a senior.
