Joel Hanson joined Upper Iowa University as the Men's Basketball Assistant Coach in May of 2024. He aided the UIU men's basketball program as the graduate assistant during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, and is now prepared to return to the Peacock sidelines for the 2024-25 season.
Prior to his return to Fayette, he spent the 2023-24 season with the Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston, who are a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
The Decorah, Iowa native was a manager for the Iowa State men’s basketball team during the years 2018-21.
Hanson received his bachelor's degree in management and marketing from Iowa State University, and his master's degree in sports administration from Upper Iowa.
