Biography

2014: Saw action in 18 of the 19 games, making 12 starts between forward and defense... scored two goals and added two assists to finished tied for sixth on the team with six points... both goals were game-winning goals, the first coming against SD Mines on Sept. 7, the second was Oct. 18 against Southern Nazarene... fired 21 shots on the year and seven were on target.

2013: Played in a total of 15 games for UIU at forward while making four starts… was the only player to score in three consecutive games… earned a total of 4 goals for 8 points… scored against Viterbo (Sept. 19), Mount Mercy (Sept. 24), Southwest Baptist (Sept. 27) and Clarke (Oct. 9)… amassed 13 shots and placed 6 of those on goal… had the game-winning goal against Southwest Baptist in a 4-2 victory at home… average .87 shots per game and .27 goals per game.

2012: As a true freshman, Newman started five of the last six matches for UIU in 2012 and saw action in a total of 10 games… tied for second on the team with two goals… scored his first collegiate goal and the game-winning goal against Southern Nazarene on Oct. 11… scored again against Fort Hays State on Oct. 12… recorded his first collegiate assist on Oct. 19 against Southwest Baptist… averaged over two shots per game and finished the season with 22 shots, while placing five of those on goal.
