Tanner Neale

Tanner Neale begins his second season as the graduate assistant coach for the Peacock baseball team in 2017-18. Neale comes to Upper Iowa after spending the 2016 season as an assistant coach at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Neale was a part of a Norse team that won the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time in ten years.

Neale is a 2015 graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. As a catcher, he was voted Best Defensive Player for the Mustangs in the 2013, 2014, and 2015 seasons, becoming the second player in school history to win the award three consecutive seasons. His .997 career fielding percentage ranks first in school history, committing two errors in his four year career. He was voted the Most Inspirational Player for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Neale signed and played professionally with the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association in 2016, and also served as the assistant coach for the Nevada Griffons of the M.I.N.K Summer Collegiate Baseball League.

Neale is pursuing his master's degree in sports administration at Upper Iowa.
