Jake Halverson

Halverson enters his second season as a graduate assistant in the Peacocks baseball program in 2020-21. A native from Rochester, Minnesota, he attended John Marshall High School and played in the 2015 Minnesota All-Star Series. After Graduating in 2015, he went to Luther College graduating in the spring of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and management. Halverson competed for the Norse baseball team at Luther for four years.

He was a four-year starter at shortstop and the Norse went 110-67 in that timespan. The Norse won the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in 2016. That year, the Norse set team records in wins, hits, doubles, and double plays turned. In 2019, Luther broke the program record for stolen bases.

In 126 games, Halverson finished with a career batting average of .322. In 23 Conference games in 2018, Halverson led the conference in batting average (.435), hits (37), and doubles (13). He was selected to the All-IIAC First Team in 2018 and 2019 and the All-Region Third Team in 2018.

Halverson ended his time at Luther finishing in the Top 10 in five offensive categories; 3rd in at-bats (568), 6th in hits (183), 7th in RBI’s (101), 9th in doubles (35), and 7th in walks (68).
