Tony Calton enters his first season as a student assistant coach for the Peacocks, after playing for two seasons in 2016-17.

In the 2017 season, Calton played in all 48 games, making 47 starts in the outfield. He hit .318 on the season with 49 hits including 10 doubles, 2 triples and 2 home runs, while driving in 23 and scoring a team-high 31 times. Calton slugged .448 and had an on-base percentage of .418, and tallied a .946 fielding percentage, making 5 errors all season.

In the 2016 year, his first at Upper Iowa, Calton played in 41 games, making 38 starts. He led the team with a .358 batting average on a team-best 49 hits including 9 doubles, 3 triples, and 3 home runs. The outfielder tallied 29 runs batted in and scored a team-best 49 times, and slugged .533 while recording an on-base percentage of .434. Calton tallied a .984 fielding percentage with just one error all season in the outfield.

His first two collegiate seasons were spent at Mendocino College, where he was named First Team All-Conference and the MVP Offensive Player of the Year as well.

In high school, Calton was named First Team All-League, First Team All-State Northern Nevada, and the Offensive Player of the Year in the state of Nevada as well.

Tony is the son of Sonia and Mike Calton, and graduated with a degree from UIU in psychology.
