POLICIES FOR PETE THE PEACOCK MASCOT APPEARANCES:
- Request forms must be received two weeks prior to the event. Failure to do so limits the availability.
- Payment for the appearance must be received before the event takes place. An invoice will be sent out prior to the event.
- Checks should be made to "UIU Cheer Team”
- A private and lockable changing room must be available to Pete for appearances that are longer than 45 minutes. (No public rooms or public restrooms). The private location is to protect the anonymity of the mascots and safety of our athletes.
- Each hour Pete must have a 15 minute break to rehydrate.
- Pete does NOT talk.
- Mascot suit will NOT be loaned or rented out.
- Appearance prices do not include mileage costs; Mileage is $0.48/mile/car roundtrip. MapQuest may be used to determine roundtrip mileage from the Fayette, Iowa.
- You may use the UIU address, 605 Washington St., Fayette, IA 52142, for the starting point.
- Completion of this form does not guarantee Pete can fill the request. We reserve the right to cancel an appearance due to illness, inclement weather, personal emergency, and scheduling conflicts.
PHOTOGRAPH/ VIDEO USAGE RULES
Pete T. Peacock is the trademarked character of Upper Iowa University. When at appearances and events, photographs may be taken for personal use only. Any company, organization, or individuals are not allowed to use photographs of Pete or any additional Upper Iowa University Trade Marks for advertisements. In addition, Pete’s appearance at an event does not constitute promotion of any products, services and/or persons by the Upper Iowa University mascot program, Upper Iowa University and/or the Upper Iowa University Alumni Association. Any miss use of photographs or sale of images alone may be a violation of the Upper Iowa University licensing of logos. UIU SPIRIT SQUADS AND MASCOT REQUEST FORM
Thank you for your interest in Upper Iowa University Athletics. Pete the Peacock, Upper Iowa University’s costumed mascot, along with cheer and dance teams, make numerous appearances a year, including UIU Athletic events, birthday parties, fundraisers, wedding receptions and more. Make your next event a hit with an appearance from Pete and the spirit squads!
To help us manage our requests and respond in a timely manner, or to request any members of the Upper Iowa University Spirit Squads to appear at your upcoming event, we ask that you fill out the request form below.
Any request made must be sent at least two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled event and must not exceed six (6) months prior. Completing the request form does not mean that you are immediately approved for the appearance request. Appearance requests are not confirmed or filled ANY EARLIER than 3-4 weeks in advance of the event.
(Please note that only completed forms will be accepted, but does not guarantee the fulfillment of the request.)
Due to the numerous requests we receive each year, our policy does not allow us to provide a complimentary partnership. All requests will still be considered and special exceptions may be granted if approved by the Athletics Administration. Please allow 14 days for a response.
