Biography

2019-20: Registered a 16-11 mark with four wins by fall.

2018-19: Posted a 13-17 record with a win by fall and nearly qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships... placed fourth and scored 9.5 points at the NCAA Super Region V Tournament after reaching the championship semifinals and coming up just one point shy (3-2 decision) in the third place match.

2017-18: Recorded a 17-15 mark with five bonus-point wins including three falls, a tech fall and a major.

2016-17: Finished 13-10 with one falls, one tech fall, and three major decisions... placed second at the Yellowjacket Open... placed third at the BVU Open... placed sixth at the NUWAY College Open.

2015-16: Wrestled unattached in five tournaments... placed sixth at the Kaye Young Open... finished fourth at the Auggie-Adidas Open... placed fifth at the Pat Flanagan Open.

Personal: Born on July 16, 1996... son of Kay and Tony Schmalen...physical education major.
