FAYETTE, Iowa. - Peacock women's soccer (0-6-3, 0-6-1 GLVC) dropped second-straight conference game to Rockhurst (Mo.) (8-1-1, 6-1-0 GLVC) on Saturday. Goalkeeper Avery Harding totaled 11 saves in the 3-0 loss.
The Hawks scored their first goal during the 30th minute of the game. The goal was scored by defender Quinn Conroy
Rockhurst secured a 3-0 victory after scoring two goals in the second half. Forward Jenna Roark opened the scoring in the 54th minute, assisted by midfielder Caitlyn Smith. Midfielder Alexis Cates added the second goal in the 67th minute, with forward Jazmin Martinez Rangel recording the assist.
UIU recorded its lone shot of the half in the 76th minute of the game. Midfielder Giovanna Alexa Garcia took the shot, sending it wide right of the goal.
Alexa Garcia had one shot. Harding hauled in 11 saves. Harding, defender Taylor Marie Inocelda-Bihag, midfielder Jessica Ancheta, defender Stephany Castillo and defender Maddy Clark all played 90 minutes.
The Hawks outshot the Peacocks, 32-1. RU led UIU in shots on goal, 15-0. Rockhurst recorded 18 corner kicks, while Upper Iowa recorded zero. The Peacocks tallied five fouls compared to the Hawks' two.
UIU hits the road for their next two games, traveling to Springfield, Illinois, to face Illinois Springfield (4-4-1, 2-2-1 GLVC) on Wednesday, Sept. 30, before heading to Bolivar, Missouri, to take on Southwest Baptist (Mo.) (2-6-1, 0-5 GLVC) on Saturday, Oct. 3.
