FAYETTE, Iowa - The Upper Iowa football team (0-1) takes on South Dakota Mines (0-2) for the home opener in Harms-Eischeid Stadium on Saturday, September 13. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.

TICKET INFORMATION
New this year, tickets for all Peacock home events can be purchased digitally at tickets.uiu.edu. Single game tickets are now available online and at the ticket booth on gameday. If you want to pay in person, both Harms-Eischeid Stadium and Dorman Memorial Gymnasium are now accepting all major credit cards, checks and cash.
Season tickets can still be purchased online as well for $40 per seat (a saving of $10 based on individual ticket prices). Prices for single game tickets are listed below.

PARKING INFORMATION
Upper Iowa fans can park in the tailgating area or the Dorman Gym Lot. South Dakota Mines fans can park in the Peacock Arts & Athletic Center (PAAC) parking lot across the street in the southwest corner of the stadium.
TAILGATE INFORMATION
The Peacock Tailgate Association will have food at the pavilion for sale. Student Life is providing a Chick-Fil-A truck from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The DiZCLAIMER band from Johnson, Iowa will be performing in the tailgate area from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Get there early and listen to them play high energy alternative rock and pop covers!
LAST TIME OUT
The Peacocks opened the season in Des Moines against Drake (1-0), losing 41-7. Senior receiver Mante Morrow finished with five catches for 85 yards and a touchdown. He scored on the opening drive of the third quarter on a 34-yard touchdown pass.
Quarterback Darryl Overstreet Jr. ended the game 15-of-26 for 174 yards and a touchdown. Tight end Eddie Burgess had four catches for 56 yards and Angelo Butts tallied 24 yards on four catches.
Defensively, redshirt junior safety Tade Parsons picked up his first career interception on the opening drive of the game. Linebacker Trevor Thompson totaled a team-high eight tackles with five solo. He also had a sack and a tackle for loss.
AROUND THE GLVC
As a conference, the GLVC went 5-3 in week 0 and 2-5 in week one. Lincoln (Mo.) (2-0), Missouri S&T (2-0) and William Jewell (Mo.) (1-0) are the three undefeated teams in the conference.
Preseason favorite Indianapolis is 1-1 with a 45-21 win over Marian (Ind.) (1-1) in week 0 and a 38-35 loss to Findlay (Ohio) (1-0) in week one. No. 2 GLVC Preseason Coaches' Poll selection Truman State (Mo.) is 0-2 with losses to Washburn (Mo.) (1-1) and Division I Butler (Ind.) (1-1).
ABOUT THE HARDROCKERS
South Dakota Mines enters this weekend's matchup after losing at No. 14 Colorado St.-Pueblo (1-1), 43-0, in the opener and Michigan Tech (2-0), 45-9, on Thursday, Sept. 4. The Hardrockers have totaled 313 passing yards and 33 rushing yards this season.
Senior Ashur Carraha starts at quarterback for South Dakota Mines. He is 12-of-26 this season with 65 passing yards and two interceptions. Running back Ty Harris leads the team in rushing with 10 carries for 28 yards.
Freshman Jacoby Ogbonna has emerged as a viable receiver. The Dallas native has 154 yards on 13 catches in the first two games. South Dakota Mines' lone touchdown this season was in the fourth quarter of the Michigan Tech game on a rushing score by Gunnar Rohloff.
Defensively, safety Will Lester leads the team in tackles with 18 (13 solo, five assisted). Redshirt freshman Aiden Werlinger has totaled 1.5 sacks. Senior cornerback JJ Nelson has totaled a team-high three pass breakups.
Last season, South Dakota Mines posted a 6-5 record. The week three win over Upper Iowa sparked a three-game win streak for the Hardrockers. South Dakota Mines also won its last three games to end the season.
LAST SEASON'S MATCHUP WITH THE HARDROCKERS
Upper Iowa fell 17-10 last season to South Dakota Mines. The Peacocks struggled to convert on third and fourth downs. UIU was 1-of-12 on third downs and 1-of-4 on fourth downs.
Both teams scored all their points in the first half. Mines opened the game with a 14-3 advantage after two eight-play drives ending in rushing touchdowns. Morrow caught a 12-yard touchdown with 10:07 left in the second quarter, cutting the lead to 14-10. A late first-half field goal extended the lead, 17-10.
South Dakota Mines totaled 366 yards of offense while Upper Iowa recorded 270. Overstreet finished 13-of-27 for 160 yards. Morrow added 62 receiving yards while Michael Mulherin led the Peacocks defensively with 11 tackles.
