FAYETTE, Iowa - Upper Iowa volleyball (1-11, 1-1 GLVC) gets on the bus this weekend for its first GLVC away games. The Peacocks head to Indianapolis to face UIndy (9-5, 1-1 GLVC) at 6 p.m. ET on Friday and then face Lewis (Ill.) (7-6, 1-1 GLVC) at 3 p.m. on Saturday.Â

Lydia Imbrogno had a season-high 14 digs and eight kills in Upper Iowa's three-set win over Missouri S&T (2-11, 0-2 GLVC). The Peacocks won in three closely contested sets, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23.Â
Martha Pace added 13 kills to lead the team. The graduate outside hitter and Imbrogno both had a team-high two aces. Grace Fruzen totaled 29 assists, her second-most of the season. Morgan Block had 12 digs, and McKenna Diermeier totaled nine digs.
The Peacocks fell to Maryville (Mo.) (5-7, 1-1 GLVC) in three sets (25-17, 25-23, 25-18) on Saturday night. Kailey Porter led the Peacocks with 10 kills, her second-most in a match this season.
Pace added nine kills and had a .250 hitting percentage. Erica Conger had five kills with a .357 hitting percentage. Fruzen added 23 assists with six digs. Block led the team in digs with 16, while Diermeier had a season-high 11 digs.Â
STATISTICAL LEADERS
Pace leads the team with 120 kills (3.16 per set). She's 10th in the GLVC in kills per set and seventh in points per set (3.70). The graduate ranks 14th in the conference in total kills. Porter is second on the team in kills with 84 (2.51 per set).Â
Fruzen has totaled 250 assists this season (6.25 per set). In the GLVC, she ranks eighth in assists per set and ninth in total assists.Â
Block is the team leader in digs with 197, ranking fourth in total digs and third in digs per set (4.93) in the GLVC. Pace passed triple digits in digs on the season this past weekend with 101 (2.66 per set).
AROUND THE GLVC
Quincy (Ill.) (11-2, 2-0 GLVC), Missouri St.-Louis (9-4, 2-0 GLVC) and Truman State (Mo.) (5-9, 2-0 GLVC) went undefeated in the opening weekend of GLVC play. Rockhurst (Mo.) (8-4, 1-0 GLVC) is also undefeated after beating William Jewell (Mo.) (1-11, 0-1 GLVC).Â
Quincy is the only team receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches' Poll. The Hawks earned 10 points in this week's poll.Â
ABOUT THE GREYHOUNDS - Friday at 6 p.m. ET
This past weekend, UIndy fell in four sets (25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 27-25) to Quincy (Ill.) (11-2, 2-0 GLVC) on Friday. The Greyhounds then rebounded with a three-set (25-17, 25-20, 25-19) win vs. Illinois Springfield (6-6, 0-2) on Saturday. UIndy went 8-4 in nonconference play, highlighted by a five-set win over No. 13 Concordia-St. Paul (9-3).
Sophomore outside hitter Maddie Lynch leads the team in kills with 185 (3.70 per set), and senior Paige Parlanti has 138 kills (2.94 per set). Lynch ranks fourth in the GLVC in kills per set and second in total kills.Â
Freshman setter Carly Fonda has 413 assists (8.26 per set), ranking third in the conference in assists per set and total assists. Junior Macy Bruton leads the team in digs with 157 (4.24 per set), and Parlanti has added 138 digs (2.94 per set). Bruton is sixth in the GLVC in digs per set.
Head coach Haley Case is in her first season with UIndy. She previously served as an assistant coach at West Florida and was the AVCA Assistant Coach of the Year in 2021. Case is the seventh head coach in UIndy volleyball history. Â
ABOUT THE FLYERS - Saturday at 3 p.m.
Lewis picked up a four-set victory (26-24, 25-19, 25-23, 25-16) over Illinois Springfield before losing in three sets (25-22, 25-14, 25-12) to Quincy on Saturday. The Flyers have played four ranked teams this season. Lewis is 1-3 in those matchups this season, but picked up a four-set win over No. 17 Wingate (N.C.) (11-1) on opening day.Â
Junior Lauren Buxton is the leader in kills with 142 (2.84 per set). Sarah Newberry and Kelly Ann Velikov each have 103 kills as well. Buxton ranks 14th in the conference in kills per set and eighth in total kills.Â
Freshman Kaileigh Krawiec is the leading setter for the Flyers with 330 assists (7.33 per set). She's fifth in the conference in total assists and in assists per set. Buxton is also the team leader in digs with 162 (3.42 per set). She ranks eighth in the GLVC in total digs and 17th in digs per set. Junior Libero Elena Gubera has 153 digs (3.06 per set).
Lorelee Smith is in her 19th season as the head coach for the Flyers. Lewis has won four straight GLVC Tournaments under her leadership. She has a 494-134 record heading into this weekend.
