FAYETTE, Iowa - The Peacock women's soccer team (0-1-1) is back in action on the road on Friday at 5 p.m. against Southwest Minnesota State (1-0). Upper Iowa hosts Jamestown (N.D.) (0-1) on Sunday at 11 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Peacocks tied 0-0 with Minnesota Crookston (0-1-1) in the home opener on Thursday, Sept. 4. Upper Iowa outshot the Golden Eagles 12-0, but couldn't find a way to get the ball in the net.
Haylie Hutchinson led the Peacocks with three shots on goal, while Maile Kehano and Natalie Lima each had two shots. Myriah Roybal and Meghan Zwicker each added a shot as well.
On Sunday, Sept. 7, Upper Iowa fell to Roosevelt (Ill.) (1-1-0), 5-1. Roosevelt's Daisy Garcia recorded a first-half hat-trick to help give the Lakers the win.
The Peacocks struck first with a solo goal by Rhea Buchanan in the 23rd minute. It was all Lakers after that as Roosevelt scored five unanswered and finished the game outshooting UIU, 28-3.
AROUND THE GLVC
Southwest Baptist (Mo.) (2-0), Missouri S&T (2-0) and Drury (1-0) are the undefeated teams without a tie left in the conference after the opening week of play. Lewis (1-0-1) and Maryville (1-0-1) are undefeated with a tie.
Maryville was selected as the top team in the preseason poll. The Saints tied with Washburn (Mo.) in the opener and defeated Emporia State (Kan.), 2-1. No.2 preseason selection Drury also picked up a win over Emporia State, 1-0.
ABOUT THE MUSTANGS - Friday at 5 p.m.
SMSU picked up a 6-0 win against NAIA Dakota State (0-5-1) on Sunday. The Mustangs had a 2-14-2 record last season. Freshman Virginia Pruitt and senior Brooke Wetterstrom each had two goals in the victory.
The Mustangs start freshman Kennady Krebs in the goal. She has yet to record a save but got the shutout in Sunday's win. The Mustangs outshot Dakota State, 28-2.
Head coach Clay Glasgow is in his fourth season with the Mustangs. He has a record of 12-32-10 entering Friday's matchup.
ABOUT THE JIMMIES - Sunday at 11 a.m.
Jamestown enters this weekend after falling 2-1 against Westminster (Utah) on Sunday, Sept. 7. Sophomore Abrianna Madill scored an unassisted goal for the Jimmies in the 54th minute. The Jimmies were outshot 22-5 in the match.
Freshman Skylar Lind is the goalkeeper for Jamestown. The Jimmies are also in their inaugural season of NCAA Division II action after being in the NAIA last season. Jamestown went 10-8 last season.
Head coach Nick Becker is in his 14th year with the Jimmies. He has a 144-93-17 record with Jamestown entering this weekend.

The Peacocks will head south to the Truman State Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 20. UIU will face conference foes William Jewell (Mo.) and Rockhurst (Mo.) in nonconference games.
