Upper Iowa faced off against Rockhurst in a Saturday doubleheader, splitting the games. They dropped the first contest 7-5 in extra innings but came back strong in the second, securing a 13-8 victory and winning the series 3-1. This marks the Peacocks' third consecutive series win.

UIU improved to 14-14 on the season and 10-6 in the GLVC, while RU shifted to 16-10 overall and 6-6 in the league.Â

GAME ONE RU-7, UIU-5
In game one, the scoring began in the top of the first when Rockhurst's ground out to first gave the visitors a 1-0 lead. Upper Iowa responded in the second, as
Justin Baehler grounded out to shortstop, allowing
Jared Grams to score, tying the game at 1-1. In the third, the Peacocks took the lead when Grams singled to left center, driving in
Brock Zimmer to make it 2-1.Â

The Hawks quickly answered in the top of the fourth after a single to center field scored one to tie the game, followed by a double to left center, bringing one more across the plate to give Rockhurst a 3-2 lead.
UIU evened the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth when
Paul Safranski singled up the middle, advanced to second on the throw, and scored
Ero Wallin.Â
In the seventh, RU regained the lead when a double to left field drove in two runs to make it 5-3.
JJ Vargas boosted the scoring in the bottom of the seventh when he homered to left field, driving in Zimmer and tying the game at 5-5, sending the game to extra innings.Â
The contest was decided in the ninth inning, as Rockhurst broke the tie in the top of the ninth and scored two runs. In the bottom of the inning, the Peacocks were unable to bring anyone around, sealing Rockhurst's lone win of the series.Â
Grams paced the team with three hits, while Vargas snagged two RBIs.

GAME TWO UIU-13, RU-8
In game two, The Peacocks jumped out to a strong lead early, scoring five runs in the first inning. Grams set the tone with an RBI single that brought in
Brock Zimmer, followed by a wild pitch that allowed
JJ Vargas to score.
Justin Baehler added to the tally with a two-run single, and
Dylan McVeigh capped off the inning with an RBI single, pushing the Peacocks' advantage to 5-0.
Rockhurst fought back in the third, scoring two runs to narrow the gap to 5-2. They notched a double, drove in the first run, and followed it up with a sacrifice fly to bring in another. The Peacocks responded quickly in the fourth, with Vargas' sacrifice fly scoring
Ethan Sawyer and Grams' single extending the lead to 7-2. Despite Rockhurst's efforts, including a three-run rally in the fifth to pull within 7-5, the Peacocks' offense continued to dominate.
Upper Iowa tacked on five more runs in the fifth inning to push the lead to 12-5 behind four hits.
Though the Hawks answered with a run in the sixth and two more in the eighth to make it 12-8, the Peacocks sealed the game with another run in the eighth (13-5), as Meiners scored on a fielder's choice. The win marked Upper Iowa's third consecutive series victory, solidifying their momentum heading into the rest of the season.
