INDIANAPOLIS - Upper Iowa men's wrestling finished 17th as Ethen Doty took sixth place on Sunday at the 46th annual Midwest Classic. The Peacocks had all 10 wrestlers win a match over the weekend.

UIU entered the day with five wrestlers competing. Dawson Schmit (133), Ethen Doty (149) and Lawson Losee (174) were on the front side of the bracket, while Preston Klostermann (157) and Braxten Westendorf (184) were on the back side. 

Doty took sixth after picking up a win by fall over Maximos Stedeford of Montevallo in the quarterfinal match. He fell to NWCA No. 6 Hayden Kuhn of Ashland (Ohio) by a 9-3 decision in the semifinal and took medical forfeits in his last two matches. Doty totaled 16.5 team points. 

Klostermann went 1-1 on the day, winning by fall over Nicolas Zamora of Maryville. He defeated Quintez Shipman of UNC Pembroke, 2-0, and then had a big 5-2 win over Jack Mackiernan of Mount Olive. Mackiernan entered the week at No. 11 in The Open Mat rankings. 

Westendorf picked up two wins on the day before losing in the fifth consolation round. Losee lost in a one-point tiebreaker to No. 14 Hunter Jump of Central Oklahoma and medically forfeited the next match. Schmit fell in both of his Sunday matches. 

Wisconsin Parkside won the event with 150 points. Pittsburgh-Johnstown (Pa.) came in second with 132 points, and Central Oklahoma was third with 113 points. McKendree (Ill.) was the top finisher from the GLVC in sixth with 99 points. Tiffin's (Ohio) Noah Gessler (165) was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.

The Peacocks are off until the new year, when they host No. 13 Minnesota State in Dorman Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m.
