The Quincy Hawks were able to defend home court against the Peacocks, as they put together a 72-62 win.
Quincy was able to jump to an early lead, as they were able to get to the foul line where they shot 7-11 in the first quarter.
Lindsey Davis converted the Peacocks first three pointer of the game just a second after she subbed in, and she followed that up by driving to the hooping and scoring on a layup. Davis would later assist on a mid-range jumper by
Mia Huberty, which helped cut the lead to 12-17 at the end of the first.
Helen Staley opened the second quarter by scoring on a pull up jumper, but both teams would end up going scoreless over a three-minute span.

Mia Huberty ended the deficit by recording mid-range buckets and a pair of Davis three pointers cut the lead to one. The Hawks would extend their lead with a three, but
Kayla Bohr answered right back with a three of her own. Huberty was fouled on a two point jumpshot, which she was able to knock down to get the and one. Bohr closed out the quarter with a shot in the paint, to make it a 34-36 game at the half.
Huberty tied the scoring at 36, before Quincy was able to attack the paint and score on three consecutive layups. They added a three pointer and a pair of free throws, and Davis responded by swishing her fourth three pointer of the game. Bohr added a pull-up jumper, and a pair of layups by Staley and Huberty made the score 52-56 at the end of the quarter.
Bohr got off to a hot start in the fourth, as she shot a perfect 4-4 at the charity stripe while adding a layup. Staley scored with a shot in the paint, and Davis' big-time basket gave the Peacocks a one-point lead. Quincy was able to take back the lead on a pair of free throws, and they scored on consecutive layups, while also forcing a UIU turnover. They were able to close out the game by shooting 3-4 at the line, securing the 72-62 win.
Lindsey Davis matched her career-high with 18 points on 7-13 shooting while converting 4-8 of her three pointers. She added three rebounds and recorded one steal.
Kayla Bohr scored 19 points while shooting 6-8 at the free throw line. She grabbed three rebounds, blocked a shot and added one steal.
Mia Huberty recorded 11 points on 5-11 shooting, and she added four rebounds and dished out three assists.
Helen Staley scored eight points while shooting 4-8 from the floor and she hauled in a team-high five rebounds with three assists and one steal.
The Peacocks will return to Dorman Memorial Gymnasium for a double header weekend against Rockhurst on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 5 p.m. and William Jewell, Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m.
