PLAYMAKING PHENOM… Sophomore
Maile Kehano opened the season with a two-assist performance in Upper Iowa's tie with Winona State. She followed that up with a goal against Bemidji State and added her third assist of the season in the Peacock victory over Lewis. She currently ranks second in the conference with three assists while playing in less games than any other player in the top ten. Kehano has posted an average of .750 assists to lead the GLVC and she ranks ninth in the conference in points per game average.
FRESHMAN SENSATION… Freshman
Jordan Goldstein leads the Peacocks with two goals scored and she ranks second on the team with two assists. She both scored and picked up an assist against Winona State and she added another goal and an assist in the same game against Lewis. Goldstein has recorded an average of 1.50 points per game which ranks sixth overall in the GLVC.
MAKING AN IMPACT… Sophomore
Haylie Hutchinson has recorded one goal and one assist on the season, dishing out the game tying assist against Winona State. Freshman
Mikalyn Hidde recorded the Peacocks first goal of the season against WSU on her second career shot on target and freshman
Samantha Most added an assist against Bemidji State while leading all field players with 351 minutes.
TUSSLE WITH TRUMAN STATE… The Bulldogs have posted a 1-3-2 record while going 0-2-1 in the GLVC. Their season was highlighted by a 4-1 win over Saginaw Valley State, and they are coming off a 1-2 defeat to McKendree. Sophomore Aubrey Kaupas leads the team with both two goals and two assists, scoring both her goals in their matchup with SVSU. Seniors Jessica Kozol and Emma Thompson, as well as sophomore Lia Quintero have each added a goal this season while all three players have started every game. In the net, senior Tatumn Damron has posted the second highest save percentage in the GLVC at 83.3%. She has picked up 30 saves in six games and has recorded two shutouts on the year.
QUARREL WITH QUINCY… The Hawks have recorded a 1-4-1 mark, while going 1-1-1 in conference play. Their lone victory came against Lewis by a score of 3-1 and they are coming off a 1-1 tie with Illinois Springfield. Freshman Daniella Segall has scored a team-high two goals which came in back-to-back games against Bemidji State and Lewis. Sophomore Reegan Hess and junior Ella Wolfard have each scored one goal and one assist on the season, while starting in all six games. In the net, senior Julia Mincher leads the conference with 42 saves and she has recorded a save percentage of 80.8%.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS… UIU will travel to Missouri for the first time this season for consecutive road games. The Peacocks face Rockhurst on Friday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. and William Jewell on Sunday, Oct. 6 at noon.
