THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK MEN'S WRESTLING… The Peacocks have a makeup dual scheduled for this weekend as they head to Lebanon, Ill. to battle McKendree on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m.

QUICK LOOK IN THE REAR VIEW… Last weekend, Upper Iowa men's wrestling defeated Minnesota State Mankato 24-13 in a non-conference dual on senior day. The Peacocks improved to 7-4 overall on the season and remained 3-0 in the conference.
UIU compiled seven victories on the mat this afternoon behind three major decisions, one fall and two wins by decision. UIU had the advantage in takedowns (17-10) and reversals (1-0), while the Mavericks edged out the Peacocks in escapes (18-9).
TEAM LEADERS… Chase Luensman leads the team in wins with 18, as he has only surrendered four losses on the season.
Eric Faught paces the squad in takedowns with 47, followed by Luensman and
Jackson Heaston with 44.
Ethen Doty and
Tate Murty lead the team in wins by fall as Doty has tallied 11 and Murty seven.
QUICK FACTS… As a team, Upper Iowa has posted 292 wins in 521 matches for a win percentage of 56% with 192 bonus-point wins including 97 falls, 50 tech falls and 45 major decisions.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS… McKendree is 10-4 overall and 1-1 in the GLVC, defeating Quincy 33-12 and falling to Maryville 23-22. They trumped three ranked teams last weekend at the Greyhound Duals, including No. 23 University of Montevallo (38-13), No. 11 Grand Valley State (34-12) and No. 23 Glenville State (32-14).
THE SERIES… This matchup will be the sixth time that the two teams have met in program history. McKendree has a slight edge over Upper Iowa as they have won three out of the last five times, including their most recent meeting in Cedar Rapids at NWCA National Duals earlier this season. The Peacocks won their first contest against the Bearcats back in 2014-15, downing them by a 18-15 decision.
A LOOK AROUND THE CONFERENCE… Upper Iowa and Indianapolis currently lead the conference with a 3-0 record, followed by Maryville in third (2-1) with Mckendree (1-1) and Drury (2-2) tied for fourth. Davenport and Quincy round out the standings as both teams are awaiting their first GLVC win.
ON THE HORIZON… UIU men's wrestling will compete in the Final Site Duals next weekend in St. Louis, Mo. They will take on Quincy at 10 a.m. and Indianapolis at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18.
